The Norwegian Information Security Laboratory (NISlab) currently consists of about ten faculty members dedicated to information security and is part of Gjøvik University College, a campus of 1700 students and 130 faculty members. Faculty members, researchers and graduate students are from a diverse and international background with an excellent faculty to student ratio.

Professor/Associate Professor (Information Security)

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in computer science or a closely related field, and have a significant scientific background and publication record in the area of information security. Successful applicants will be responsible for research, student supervision and teaching at BSc, MSc and PhD levels. Teaching language for the MSc and PhD levels is English. Applicants must be highly proficient in English and may be required to learn some Norwegian within the first years of employment. The position is tenured with salary based on the state pay scale system and contributes into the national retirement fund. As of June 2009, the scale for full professors is NOK 518.200,- – 1.024.800,- (approx. EUR 57.000 – 113.000, USD 75.000 - 149.000) and for Associate Professor NOK 438.700 - 630.400 (EUR 48.000 - 69.000, USD 64.000 - 92.000) p.a. depending on qualifications.

PhD grant

Applicants must hold a good MSc degree in computer science or a related degree such as information technology, mathematics, physics, or electrical engineering. Grants can be awarded for a period of up to four years. Applicants are encouraged to submit a research project description of 2-3 pages or to contact NISlab faculty for possible research topics. No tuition fees are assessed, service obligations to the department are kept at a minimum to ensure students’ ability to concentrate on research. As of June 2009, the grants is NOK 355.600,- (approx EUR 39.000 / USD 52.000) p.a.

Postdoctoral Grant

Applicants should have earned a doctoral degree in computer science or a closely related field such as communication technology, mathematics, or physics. The grant may be awarded for a period of up to three years. Applicants are encouraged to submit a research project description of 2-3 pages or to contact NISlab faculty for possible research topics. As of June 2009, the grant is NOK 438.700 (EUR 48.000, USD 64.000) p.a.
