Project summary

Hitachi-Omron Terminal Solutions Corporation is one
of the top companies in Asia providing
the financial market with secure solutions.
Core business are ATMs and the integration with Biometrics.

Hitachi has been increasing its presence
in the European biometric market and has selected
the Norwegian Information Security Laboratory (NISlab)
as one of their scientific partners in late 2008. Focus of the
partnership is research on finger vein recognition, which
is a promising biometric authentication method.
Both partners intend to contribute results
from this research to the International Organization for
Standardization (ISO).
